I have to tell you - those folks at FiredUp! are real loons - and I mean that in the nicest way possible, but its inevitable that if you are used to screaming at your lungs about the perfidy of your political opponents, you're bound to make some really big mistakes.
And the "Howard Beale" character over at FiredUp just made another big one.
In a hit piece dripping with condescension, Beale attempts to make a story about a lobbyist changing her name from Melanie Moore to Melanie Withrow, in some underhanded attempt to hide a connection with Peter Kinder and Paul McKee.
No really - he believes his "story" was so scary, it led Ms. Withrow to change her name from Moore to Withrow (Beale assumes this is her maiden name). The truth, as revealed by the Team Kinder blog, is that Ms. Withrow married Mr. Withrow recently, and changed her name, because she was taking his name.
The problem with Beale's writings, is he assumes that all Republicans are corrupt, so he assumes they are all part of some underhanded master conspiracy. Tenuous connections turn into lifetime friendships, where cash money is passed underneath tables in smoky-filled backrooms, untraceable by brave journalist-bloggers.
In most periods, his brand of paranoia would land him in a room with soft padded walls. In today's age, he gets to write for the most popular liberal blog in the state.
So keep on peddling your nonsense to the masses, Beale. I just hope you don't actually work a real newspaper.
Maybe you and Jefferson Thomas ought to consider returning your diplomas to the Mizzou J-School.
