I was an employee of Sprint PCS before we offered service to the public. We knew then that cell phone inattention was a safety issue.

What you fail to point out in your charts is the duration of the majority of your listed activities are very short - the time to take a sip of soda or the time to change radio stations.
Compare those with a 5 minute or 10 minute cell call and the cell call easily lasts 50 or more times greater.

I have never taken a sip of soda and asked .."how did I get an extra 50 feet down the highway". I have asked "how did I get 2 miles down the highway"
I at least admit it.
