Robin Carnahan tells the Post Dispatch that the GOP wants to make everyone look like dirtbags because they point out she isn't honest about her record.
In this article in the Political Fix, Carnahan says she was never a "banking executive," but instead was an assistant to the President of the Import Export Bank.
As far as the Export-Import bank, Carnahan said her position in the 1990s was assistant to the chairman, involved primarily in identifying new markets for U.S. companies to sell goods.
Where would the GOP get the idea that she sees herself as a banking executive?
We can start with the Wikipedia page policed by the Carnahan campaign.
Later, Carnahan served as an executive at the Export-Import Bank of the United States.[citation needed]
The Carnahan campaign closely watches the Wikipedia site, but Wikipedia isn't a newsworthy source. So let's see who else calls her an executive.
KY3 states she was an executive with the Export-Import Bank in February of 2009. There's at least one Missouri news source that somehow came to the conclusion she was "an executive."
One of Robin Carnahan's biggest funders and supporters, Emily's List, thinks Carnahan is an executive.
With a background in business and international law, Carnahan previously served as an executive at the Export-Import Bank of the United State.
Even the Carnahan family blog "FiredUpMissouri" thinks Carnahan is an executive.
Work Experience: Thompson Coburn law firm (formerly Thompson Mitchell); National Democratic Institute, serving in Europe and South America; executive, Export Import Bank, Washington, D.C.
Those people could all be mistaken. Let's go to the official source, the website for the Missouri Secretary of State. This is Carnahan's current bio.
Carnahan also served at the Export-Import Bank of the United States, where she explored innovative ways to help American companies increase their sales of goods and services abroad.
Well, that's clears it up. Carnahan was never an executive, and she just served at the...wait a minute. Sometimes people are known to lie, and just because it's on the internet doesn't mean it wasn't changed for crass political reasons. Let's check the Internet Wayback Machine!
And there it is. This archive section of the SoS website has different copy than the one currently displayed by Carnahan. June 26, 2008, the SoS website says:
Carnahan also served as an executive at the Export-Import Bank of the United States where she explored innovative ways to help American companies increase their sale of goods and services abroad.
What is Robin Carnahan so afraid of? Why would she delete three little words that were on the site from 2005-2008? Why would she change her official government biography to run for Senate? Is she hiding something? Maybe it's time to do a little digging into the Export-Import Bank.
This we know: Carnahan claims the GOP is smearing her for repeating information on her official government bio.
I guess we know who the dirtbag is.

You?

It's easy to see that Robin sat around the same dinner table as the rest of the Carnahans. She's a political animal to the core and will do anything necessary to advance her political career. What we do not need for Missouri is another "Carnahan rubber stamper" in the U.S. Congress to pass every trillion dollar spending bill thought up by the likes of Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Giving her a seat in Congress would be like giving Harry Reid two votes. No on Carnahan.

I'll never forget years ago Senator Carnahan coming on the plane from STL to D.C with a People Magazine and reading it all the way to Reagan National. I see the light weight tag has followed from her mother to Robin.
